Dr Will Thomas

I am a Consultant Haematologist at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, specialising in thrombosis, haemostasis and non-malignant haematology. My clinical practice includes venous thromboembolism and thromboprophylaxis, anticoagulation, inherited and acquired bleeding disorders, thrombotic microangiopathies (including thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura), and complex haemostasis.

I have authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and have co-authored international guidelines. My work has included leadership in regional and national services, clinical research, guideline development and education.

Alongside my NHS practice, I undertake independent medicolegal work in my areas of expertise, acting for both claimants and defendants. My approach is evidence-based, impartial and proportionate, with particular interests in breach of duty, causation and the interpretation of clinical evidence in complex cases involving thrombosis and haemostasis.
